Save the date for our Collaborative Farming evening with speaker John Gladigau from Bulla Burra in south Australia.
John is a third generation farmer, living and farming with his wife Bronwyn and two children in the Northern Mallee region of South Australia on the 2000 ha family property purchased by his grandfather in 1956. With the family farm being only of average size, and seeing the drive for efficiencies and economies of scale in the 80’s and 90’s leading to the adage of ‘get big or get out’, John’s big picture thinking and passion for agriculture led to being awarded a Nuffield Scholarship in 2007 to look at alternative business models for Australian family farms.
Tim Carroll, Chairman of NSW Young Farmers, will also be speaking on his involvement in a collaborative farming venture in Cudal, NSW.
Dave Gooden, farmer from Lockhart and Nuffield Scholar, will chair the evening and brings to the table his experience with collaborative family farming.
